Scilla (blue squill)s
Scillas grow in most situations in sun or shade. An ideal soil would be fertile, moist but well-drained. The bulbs are suitable for naturalizing beneath light trees, under hedges, in the rockery or in the wild garden along the walk. Little fertilization is needed, but a mulch of well-rotted manure or leafmold applied in the fall once every two years would be beneficial. Blue squills are probably the best companion to any daffodil planting. Plant 3 inches deep, 3 inches apart.
